After the close Friday the USDA will release the All Important Quarterly All Hogs and Pig Crop Report.

A majority of Traders are expecting a neutral to bullish report. Expecting little change from a year ago in the USDA's report for:  all hogs, marketing's and kept for breeding figures, according to a Dow Jones Newswires' survey of analysts.

However considering the recent action , it appears  traders are more bullish than neutral....and personally I would not mind seeing a report that is in line with expectations but causes a bit of a sell off that we would construe as a buying chance..
These quarterly reports can contain surprises that could cause the Pork markets to  move up or down limit

With Monday being:  a short day , before a holiday  and the end of the year / end of the month,
we prefer to keep positions rather light going into the report.

As of now FuturesCom has no open recommended Hog positions and is short a small number of Feb Bellies
for our premier service from Thursday..

Stay tuned for Updates during the trading session on Friday.

FuturesCom's  estimates as a percentage VS. Last year for the USDA Report :

All hogs and Pigs   101.0
Kept for Breeding   100.0
Kept for marketing  101

The Street has it this way according to a Dow Jones Newswire survey :
                                                 Average           Range
All hogs and pigs on Dec 1       99.9       98.9-101.0
Kept for breeding                     99.3       98.5-101.5
Kept for marketing                  100.1      99.0-101.0

Happy Trading !
