A FuturesCom Announcement:
August 16th, 2008
2:00 AM South Florida Beach time
Over the past Two years the Futures markets have become a lot more
volatile , and margins have increased in some markets to four times what they
had been for a good many years. This is normal and happens all the time in
a few specific markets, however over the past two years just about all the
futures markets have experienced an increase in margins. The best way I can
address this is to plan on trading fewer markets or increase the amounts
of base investment each year . The former is not an option in my opinion.
Therefore some changes are going to occur.
1 The Bi-Weekly Investment Outlook and Morning Comments will now
contain an Agricultural and Financial Section. , this was introduced last week
in issue BW 299 and during this week. in the Morning Comments. The flashes have
been changed to reflect this during the week.
2. The Yearly Starting Value for Each Bi-Weekly Section will be $110,000 , which
is double the $ 55,000 we have used for the last 12 years for the whole program
. Day trades value will be $ 100,000.also double the whole program value.
This will be funded by the long idle option program which I began in 2002 funded
by the BW and MC gains in 2001 and used as parking spot for the Day Trade
(MC) )gains a few years back..
3. To effect the change for tracking purposes as quickly as possible I am
going to separate all the trades from Jan 1 of this year
into each section.
4. The option program remaining funds will be moved into reserve.
5. Reserve will be activated for Global trading and named 'FuturesCom Global
Trading Fund'
Happy Trading !
